National Quality Registry for Rehabilitation for Visual Impairment (SKRS)

Registry category: Eye diseases

Certification level: 3

Central personal data controller (CPUA): Region Blekinge

The aim of the National Quality Registry for Rehabilitation for Visual Impairment (SKRS) is to increase knowledge about rehabilitation measures and their results in order to achieve equitable visual rehabilitation in Sweden. SKRS also aims to develop data on process and outcomes based on relevant evidence-based interventions and to provide data for research, operational development, and clinical improvements.

The patients’ care chain consists of referral assessment, first consultation with charting and preparation of rehabilitation plan, next appointment (measures in the form of investigation, testing and training of compensatory techniques and aids, supportive and motivational consultations, crisis support and support for family members) and follow-up. A lot of resources are invested in training in the use of optical devices or other aids.
