The Swedish Cervical Screening Registry contains information regarding the screening program for prevention of cervical cancer including cervical cytology samples (cytologic analysis, HPV-analysis or both) and tissue samples for histopathological investigation from relevant locations in addition to invitations to taking screening tests.
The purpose of the registry is to improve the prevention of cervical cancer by providing an evidence base for evaluating and coordinating efforts to reduce incidence and mortality rates for cervical cancer, and to reduce adverse side effects of preventative interventions.
