National Quality Registry for Childhood Obesity (BORIS)

Registry category: Paediatric health

Certification level: 2

Central personal data controller (CPUA): Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset

Approximately 20-25 percent of 10-year-old children in Sweden are overweight and approximately three percent suffer from obesity. The link between obesity and other morbidities is becoming increasingly clear.

The primary purpose of this quality registry is the long-term monitoring of childhood obesity treatment in Sweden.

A National Quality Registry facilitates the quality assurance of care at the local level and how this quality compares to care in Sweden overall.
