HR – Platform
Human Rights on the local and regional level – In order to put into concrete terms or concretisize what human rights means in the Swedish local and regional context, SALAR has developed a platform for policy and organisational development.
The idea is for the platform to work as a point of departure and a development tool when management within the areas of policy and administration wish to strengthen their work with human rights. You can download (use button ”Ladda ner”) the publication free of charge in SALAR’s webshop.
Background to the platform
In 2016 SALAR, in collaboration with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) took the first steps to develop a Swedish platform for human rights, inspired by the international concept of Human Rights Cities. During an intensive three day workshop experts and politicians from municipalities and regions met together with experts from SALAR, Swedish and international researchers and representatives from civil society.
35 persons met to co-create the first Swedish Policy Platform on Human Rights at local and regional level. After further discussion rounds and revised versions the board of SALAR adopted the platform – Human Rights at local and regional level – a platform for policy and operational development in March 2017.
