As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, UCLG and its Standing Committee on Gender Equality reaffirm commitment to advancing gender equality, fostering inclusive leadership, and amplifying women’s voices in decision-making processes.

In conjunction with the meeting of the UCLG Standing Committee for Gender Equality, the event will explore changing social norms that act as barriers to women’s political participation, the role of local and regional governments in dismantling these obstacles and fostering inclusive local democracy.
