Lucia Acosta Negrin is a consultant with extensive experience in project management, strategic communication, and gender equality. Over her 18-year career, she has worked with international development projects across Latin America, the Middle East, and North Africa, focusing on enhancing public sector capacity, fostering inclusive local governance, and promoting gender equality. Lucia has held different roles in organisations such as SALAR International, where she has demonstrated her ability to lead complex initiatives and managed key projects in Colombia, Cuba, and Iraq, focusing on gender equality and process leadership. At Sida, she contributed as a Program Specialist and Process Developer, overseeing cooperation with the swedish public authorities, digital projects and supporting international partnerships. Earlier in her career at SIPU International, she has worked as Project Manager and Head of a Business Development Unit, leading international training programs and strategic project initiatives. She holds master’s degrees in political science and strategic information and communication and has completed several specialized courses in project management, gender analysis, and public sector innovation


Lucia is currently managing a capacity-building programme for the MENA region called Inclusive Local Governance. In this role, she is responsible for designing the programme's pedagogical framework, coordinating a regional team, and liaising with strategic partners and financiers across Jordan, Algeria, Morocco, Syria, and Libya. Additionally, she is managing a project in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) focused on local governance and EU accession. Lucia is also coordinating a peer-learning event in Brussels, which aims to strengthen local government capacities for EU accession.
